BMW has disclosed plans to launch a new BMW M model with OLED technology “in the near future.” (possible new M2)
The spectacular M4 Concept Iconic Lights debuted a few days ago at CES with OLED taillights and immediately rumors emerged about the Bavarian marque cooking up a production car with OLED taillights. Now, the company has turned the gossip into reality by announcing through a Facebook post plans to launch an M model with OLED technology.
Without going into details, BMW M says it will be out “in the near future” so chances are the model in question is the M2 which is believed to show up at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show kicking off on September 15 with the first press day.
Aside from the exciting new lighting solution, the M2 promises to be a true driver’s car with a six-cylinder 3.0-liter turbo engine outputting around 380 HP (279 kW) which would make it 54 HP (39 kW) more powerful than the M235i Coupe. Production will allegedly commence in November so deliveries should start early 2016.
