Instagram user simfar22 has shared an interesting photo of a mysterious BMW prototype in California.
The vehicle wears a heavy camouflage and was photographed testing on Beverly Boulevard. We can’t say this is the BMW M2 for sure, but the wider wheel arches and the similar alloy wheels to the previous test mules of the model suggest we are looking at the most powerful 2-Series.
Previous reports have suggested the M2 could get a maximum output of up to 380 HP (279 kW), which is 54 HP (39 kW) more than the M235i Coupe. Power will be provided by a turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder petrol unit. 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration could take around 4.5 seconds. Updated suspension and brakes and quad pipe exhaust system are also expected.
