The development of the 2017 BMW 5 Series is in full swing and prototypes are currently being tested in Europe. The latest spy photos from Germany give us a first look at the hybrid version of the G30 5 Series.
Directly behind the front wheel, we can easily spot a flap which covers the charging socket of the 5 Series, similar to what the BMW i8, X5 xDrive40e and the 328E offer. Just like the upcoming X5 hybrid, the G30 530e is likely to feature a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired with an electric motor.
The power output should be identical to the new X5 xDrive40e, around 300 horsepower combined. The average fuel consumption should be around 2 liters per 100 km, or 117 MPG.
BMW will debut the G30 5 Series next year.
